‘Believing is Achieving’

Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium expenditure and outcomes Schools, head teachers and teachers will decide how to use the Pupil Premium allocation, as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for individual pupils. It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium, allocated to schools per FSM pupil, is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility. At the moment, Shepwell Short Stay School (Pupil Referral Unit/Hospital School – medical) does not have access to all the pupil premium funding which goes into schools. However some mainstream schools are happy to share a proportion of the pupil premium money as a way to support the pupil on their roll.  We do work with schools however, to ensure that the funding follows the pupil, for example, we might ask schools to provide funding for some additional teaching support for catch up or to access therapeutic activities.

Shepwell Short Stay School will ensure that the Pupil Premium funding we receive reaches the groups for whom it was intended and that it makes a significant impact on their education and lives: The Pupil Premium will be used to provide additional educational support to improve the progress and raise the achievement for these pupils.

The funding will be used to narrow and close the gap between the achievement of those pupils and their peers
